Collective Health is a health benefits platform and third-party administrator (TPA) that runs self-funded health plans for large employers, covering roughly 800,000 members. On top of the core claims, enrollment, and member experience, it has built Collective AI (CAI) with Google Cloud: a 24/7 member concierge that answers questions like "why was my claim denied" in plain language, a real-time copilot that surfaces the right answer to human service agents, and an enrollment tool. Around 210 engineers run AI-augmented development across the company. Every AI decision starts from "how does the customer benefit," and final claim decisions, especially rejections, always pass through a human expert.
