Framework
The Trace-Back Test
How to check whether an AI decision can survive scrutiny.
How it works
- 1For any consequential AI decision, ask what it decided and why.
- 2Go to the data point or source the agent relied on.
- 3Check whether the decision passes a human gut check.
- 4If the only answer is "the agent said so," the system fails.
